  • Account Information: If you sign in with Firebase Authentication, we collect your email address or sign-in identifier to create and manage your account.
  • Location Data: With your permission, we access your device’s location to show nearby historical places and generate relevant content. Location data is only used while the app is running.
  • App Usage Data: We may collect anonymized information such as device type, app version, and crash logs (via Firebase) to improve app performance.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:

  • To provide core app functionality (e.g., showing places near you, saving your preferences).
  • To maintain and improve the App (e.g., fix bugs, improve user experience).
  • To authenticate users and protect against fraud or abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.


3. Sharing of Information

We may share limited data only in these cases:

  • Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (e.g., Firebase, Google Places API, Map APIs) to provide the App. These services may process data on our behalf.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, we may disclose information to comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and app usage data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 7).

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.


6. Children’s Privacy

YorePath is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us for removal.

  • Disable location permissions in your device settings (though some features will not work).
  • Request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.
