As you approach the memorial, nestled near State Route 309 at GALION RESERVOIR PARK, youll notice its centerpiece: a cannon formerly mounted on the USS Constitution, or Old Ironsides. This powerful artillery piece was acquired by the city of Galion from the Boston Navy Yard in 1934. The memorial is dedicated to peace officers and bears an informative plaque that reads, Dedicated to all peace officers by the Fraternal Order of Police.
