The Kurt & Marge Soper Nature Center awaits you nearby, located at 9489 E. Atherton Rd. The Soper Nature Center offers an array of activities designed to captivate and educate visitors of all ages. Stroll along the parks walking and biking trails, cool off with a swim in our facilities, or enrich your knowledge with one of our many educational programs. In winter, you can even take advantage of the parks skating rinks and sporting facilities for some outdoor fun.
This tranquil haven is named in honor of Kurt Soper and his wife Marge. A passionate hunter and avid fisherman, Kurt found solace in the great outdoors, particularly while hunting in northern Michigan or fishing on serene lakes in Canada. His love for nature was so profound that the Soper Nature Center was named in their honor.
Another important figure who left a lasting impact is Norman Davison, for whom the town itself is named. In June 1845, Davison built a sawmill in Atlas Township on Kearsley Creek, forever cementing his place in the areas history.
The Soper Nature Center is more than just a park—its an experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired. Whether youre seeking adventure or tranquility, this enchanting haven has something for everyone. So come, immerse yourself in natures beauty, and explore the many wonders of the Soper Nature Center.
