Pearis Theater

Opened on December 20th, 1939, this L-shaped theater was designed by the Star Amusement Company and the Witten family, boasting a unique one-lot lobby and a three-lot auditorium. When it first opened its doors, the Pearis Theater was listed with an impressive 600 seats. It ceased operations as a movie theater in March 1986 but has recently been reopened due to a restoration agreement.

The original name for this town was Giles Court House before it was established by Capt. George Pearis in 1806 when he donated 53 acres to the community.
