Welcome to Boxx Gallery, a vibrant hub of creativity located in the small yet dynamic town of Tieton, Washington. This gallery is not just a space for art, but a cornerstone of the community, embodying an inspiring story of transformation and resilience.
The story of Boxx Gallery begins in 2015, when Michelle Wyles and Karen Quint saw an opportunity to enrich the community with a space dedicated to art. They envisioned a gallery that would not only showcase artistic talent but also support local initiatives like the Highland Food Bank. In just two months, what was once an idea became reality, thanks to the collaborative effort of local artists and volunteers. This community-driven spirit is embedded in the gallery’s very foundation, making it a true testament to the power of collective creativity.
Boxx Gallery has hosted numerous exhibitions that captivate and inspire. One notable event was the display of over 900 collages from around the world, made on recycled coffee cup lids. This international exhibition was part of the Kanyer Art Collection’s initiative to blend art with environmental consciousness, illustrating the gallery’s commitment to innovative and meaningful art forms.
The gallery also plays a significant role in promoting regional art through annual events like ‘Images of the Shrub-Steppe.’ This exhibit celebrates the unique landscapes of Eastern Washington, connecting art enthusiasts with the natural beauty of the area. Such events not only highlight the region’s artistic talent but also foster a deeper appreciation for the local environment.
Boxx Gallery is more than just a place to view art; it is a community asset where people gather for workshops, meetings, and creative exchanges. Its evolution from a simple art space to a non-profit organization reflects its growing importance in the community and its dedication to making art accessible to all.
As you explore Boxx Gallery, you are not just witnessing art; you are experiencing the heartbeat of Tieton’s vibrant cultural renaissance. Enjoy your visit and let the stories of this remarkable place inspire your own creativity.
