One of the key historical landmarks managed by the Foundation is the Plumb House Museum. Built in the early 19th century, this two-story log home offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of 1800s Virginians and played a significant role during the Battle of Waynesboro in March 1865, the last major battle in the Shenandoah Valley during the American Civil War.
Notably, the Plumb House has witnessed generations of the Plumb family until it was purchased by the Foundation in 1994. Today, the museum houses an impressive collection of Civil War and Native American artifacts, making history accessible to everyone. The Foundation also organizes the annual Battle of Waynesboro reenactment, bringing history to life for visitors and locals alike.
